The start of your Fellowship begins here

NMR Tattoo Fellowship

The NMR Tattoo Fellowship is an advanced continuing education pathway designed for established nipple tattoo artists who are ready to refine, deepen, and expand their expertise in restorative and medical tattooing.

This fellowship is designed for practicing nipple-areola tattoo artists who are seeking advanced clinical insight, refined artistic technique, and ongoing professional development within the field of restorative tattooing.

As a fellowship, the focus is on sharpening your skills within your niche—elevating both your technical execution and your clinical decision-making in complex restorative cases. This includes advancing your understanding of color theory in compromised skin, improving outcomes in asymmetry and revision work, and strengthening your ability to assess and correct previously tattooed results with precision and confidence.

As we roll out the program, the NMR Tattoo Fellowship will be structured in progressive phases of continued education:

We begin with live webinars and advanced continuing education sessions, focused on real case analysis and expert-level corrective techniques. From there, we expand into ongoing education in anatomy, surgical context, and medical knowledge, helping artists better understand the procedures and healing environments that impact their work.

A core component of the fellowship also includes maintaining and advancing aseptic technique standards within the tattoo studio, ensuring artists are aligned with best practices in infection control and clinical safety as this field continues to evolve.

Finally, the fellowship will culminate in an in-person advanced training experience, offering hands-on mentorship, case-based learning, and direct skill refinement in a clinical restorative setting.

The NMR Tattoo Fellowship exists to support experienced artists who want more than isolated education—it is a structured path of continued growth, mastery, and professional elevation within medical and restorative tattooing.

Developed under NMR Tattoo, this program translates medical concepts into tattoo-specific understanding, giving artists the knowledge required to work on post-surgical chests, reconstructed tissue, and scarred skin—particularly in the context of nipple and areola tattooing.

This is not cosmetic PMU training and not a crash course. It is a medical foundations course, modeled after the way healthcare professionals are trained:

  • Understanding anatomy before intervention

  • Understanding surgery before working on surgical outcomes

  • Understanding scar physiology before tattooing scar tissue

These courses serves as a standalone educational program and as a core prerequisite for the NMR Tattoo Fellowship, ensuring that tattoo fellows arrive with the medical literacy necessary to practice responsibly at an advanced level.

Medical Tattooing Foundations: Anatomy, Surgery and Scar Tissue

Tattoo artists are rarely taught how surgery changes anatomy, how scar tissue behaves over time, or how healing outcomes directly affect pigment retention, placement, and long-term results. This course addresses that gap. This course serves as a standalone educational program and as a core prerequisite for the NMR Tattoo Fellowship, ensuring that fellows arrive with the medical literacy necessary to practice responsibly at an advanced level.
